Assistant Golf Professional

Elk Ridge Resort, the host course of PGA Tour Americas “Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open” a is a 27-hole championship golf course located two hours from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and seven minutes outside of Prince Albert National Park.  Surrounded by the boreal forest, pristine lakes and natural wildlife, the area is rich with nature and outdoor experiences. The renowned banquet and dining facilities provide an idyllic venue for special events.

Job Summary

We are looking for a driven and passionate individual who wants to learn and grow with our resort operation, expanding their career to new heights. Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, the Assistant Golf Professional will assist with overseeing and guiding all aspects of a robust resort golf operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, knowledge of golf operations, and a passion for the game. They will also be a energetic, service driven and an excellent communicator with strong motivational skills. They will provide a culture where staff are enthusiastic about meeting the needs and enhancing the overall golfing experience for all guests. Responsibilities

Golf Operations Management

  • Assist the Head Pro with overseeing the Pro-shop, Back shop, driving range, staffing, and tee time scheduling.

  • Address inquiries and concerns promptly.

  • Manage course play and coordinate with grounds staff for optimal conditions.

  • Communicate course conditions to members and collaborate with Course Superintendent.

  • Assist with marketing efforts as required.

Staff Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and retain a strong team.

  • Understand staff scheduling, time sheets, and payroll.

  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for a positive guest experience.

Customer Service/Guest Engagement

  • Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and work closely with all team member of the resort in a cohesive manner. 

  • Provide exceptional service and address guest needs.

  • Respond to inquiries and concerns promptly.

  • Stay visible and engaged with guests.

Event Management

  • Plan and successfully execute golf tournaments, outings, and special events.

  • Collaborate with Events team to ensure smooth event execution.

Pro Shop Operations

  • Manage inventory, sales, and merchandising in the Pro Shop.

  • Align inventory with current trends and brand standards.

  • Optimize tee sheet and golf cart management for revenue opportunities. Qualifications

  • PGA of Canada member in good standing.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Tee On Software.

  • Outgoing and energetic personality and willingness to grow as a professional.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and multitask.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Strong playing/teaching ability is considered an asset.

Qualifications 

  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets and drive revenue.

  • PGA of Canada Member in good standing preferred 

  • Experience coordinating tournaments and corporate events

  • Experience with the Tee-On system an asset but not necessary

Duration

Contract from May 1 to October 31, 2025, with the potential for extension (TBD)

Compensation

  • $1,000 - $1,100 per week based on experience 

  • 40 – 44 hours per week
